  17. This README document provides additional or late-breaking 
  18. information as a supplement to the diskette reference manual shipped 
  19. with your printer.
  20. =========================================================================
  21. This diskette contains the software you need to use a Tektronix 
  22. PostScript Color Printer with Windows 3.1.  The Tektronix printer 
  23. driver for Windows 3.1 is based on Microsoft's version 3.56 driver.  
  24. This diskette also contains the printer WPD files you need if you 
  25. are updating the Microsoft Windows 3.1 driver.
  26.  
  27. The Tektronix PostScript printer driver for Microsoft Windows 3.1 
  28. lets you take full advantage of Adobe PostScript Level 2 and 
  29. Tektronix color corrections.  The Tektronix driver co-exists with 
  30. the standard Microsoft Windows PostScript printer driver.

  32. TABLOID EXTRA PRINTING ON A PHASER 480
  33. The image area, or printable area, in some Windows applications does 
  34. not match the Tektronix Phaser 480 printer's image area for Tabloid 
  35. Extra paper.  Tabloid Extra dimensions are 12.6 x 18.3 ins. 
  36. (320 x 465 mm); the image area is 11.9 x 17.2 ins. (303 x 436 mm).  
  37. If your images are clipped when printed on Tabloid Extra paper, 
  38. adjust the margins within your application to increase the image 
  39. area.  Refer to your application's manual for instructions on setting 
  40. margins.

  42. NOTE FOR CORELDRAW USERS
  43. To use the Tektronix Windows driver with CorelDRAW, you must do the 
  44. following steps:  
  45. 1.  Locate the Corel application directory.
  46. 2.  Locate the CORELDRW.INI file.
  47. 3.  Locate [Coreldrivers] in the .INI file.
  48. 4.  Add the entry PHASER=1 under [Coreldrivers].

  50. NOTE FOR ALDUS APPLICATION USERS
  51. To use the Tektronix Windows driver with ALDUS applications, you must 
  52. do the following steps:  
  53. 1.  Locate the ALDUS.INI file in the application's directory.
  54. 2.  Add the following two lines:
  55.         [PostScript Device]
  56.         PostScript Printer=1

  58. NOTE FOR MICROSOFT POWERPOINT USERS
  59. If you are printing multiple page documents, and the entire document does
  60. not print, try the following:
  61.  
  62. 1.  Open the "Advanced Options" dialog box in your Windows printer driver.
  63. To do this, select your printer in the "Printers" dialog box, then choose
  64. the "Setup" button.  From the "Setup" dialog box, choose the "Options"
  65. button; from the "Options" dialog box, choose the "Advanced" button.

  67. 2.  In the "Advanced Options" dialog box, make the following selections:
  68.  
  69. a)  In the "TrueType Fonts" section, click the "Use Substitution Table" box ON.
  70.  
  71. b)  In the "Memory" section, click the "Clear Memory per Page" box ON.
